The Rambler Card service introduced a new
Camera function — pictures from main streets and highways, which help in real time to see and evaluate the situation on the roads.
When clicking on the “Cameras” button on “Rambler-Maps”, special icons appear - they indicate the places where cameras are installed. You can compare images from webcams with data on traffic jams, look at pictures from neighboring cameras and decide on the best route.
While the cameras on the cards work in
Moscow ,
St. Petersburg ,
Novosibirsk and
Kazan . The number of cameras in these cities will constantly increase, and plans to connect new cities.
The technology partner of the service was the project “
Traffic jams ”, developing its own network of webcams for road monitoring. The peculiarity of the project is that the residents themselves install the cameras: anyone who has windows facing the road can help others to better navigate the situation on the roads and get compensation for it. Webcams for road monitoring are provided free of charge. All you need is to leave a request to connect the camera on
the project
website .
