Google will build three more data centers in Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong

Representatives of Google Inc. reported that three new data centers in the Asian region will be created soon. More specifically, one data center will be built in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The total cost of all three "new buildings" will be 200 million dollars. All this is done in order to improve the speed of user access to the company's services in the region, as well as to ensure a more secure operation for these users.

Plans are already beginning to be realized, and the corporation has bought three land plots in each of the indicated countries. In Singapore, 2.45 hectares of land were bought, in Taiwan, as many as 15 hectares. In Hong Kong, Google acquired 2.7 hectares of land. In principle, ample space to create large data centers. I wonder why as many as 15 hectares in Taiwan - maybe there will also be a resort area for the employees of the corporation?

As far as we know, these are the first data centers in the Asian region, entirely owned by Google. The company now has 6 of its own data centers in the US, as well as one data center in Finland and Belgium (meaning data centers owned by Google).

Most likely, data centers will begin work in a year or two after the construction process begins. Own data centers in Asia are very necessary for corporations, since the number of Internet users in this region is constantly increasing, and very quickly. And now Google representatives admit that more and more visitors are coming from the Asian region.

Of course, there are problems - for example, a conflict with the authorities of China, about which they have repeatedly written on Habré. But still, the Asian region is another “tasty” piece of cake for IT companies, including Google.
