On September 19, the second technology conference of Yandex - Yet another Conference 2011 was held in Moscow. This year the event was attended by about two and a half thousand people. Registration terminals issued up to 22 badges per minute.
We discussed, argued and exchanged a lot of experience on various topics: programming techniques, security, mobile technologies, client development, mathematics in computer science, administration and testing, distributed storage systems and computing. ')
This year, besides the reports, a technology exhibition was held at YaC 2011, where Elliptics, Mod_js, MapKit, Lunapark, Mulca and other technologies developed by Yandex, as well as new smartphones and technologies from Samsung and HTC were presented. Huge popularity was at the stand, where tactical training exercises were conducted under the code name "Lunapark" vs Nginx.
Separate stands were devoted to learning and working in Yandex. Our employees answered questions about which specialists we were interested in, about the School of Data Analysis and the School of Managers, held contests and lotteries. One of the most popular competitions was a contest for system administrators. Its winners have become students of the fall Information Technologies Yandex courses. We also offered to undergo a training interview at the School of Data Analysis and to know by our own example our requirements for applicants.
Robot Marvin enjoyed great success. Thanks to him, some of the lucky ones got prizes from our partners.
