Competition "War of Browsers" from Web Standards and Mail.Ru Group

Community of Developers Web standards together with Mail.Ru Group announces a contest for web developers on knowledge of modern web technologies. The prize is a modern tablet computer. Read the rules, get acquainted with the jury and send your applications to bw@web-standards.ru in any form. The award ceremony and the presentation of prizes to the winners will be held on October 29, 2011 at the “Web Standards Days” meeting in Minsk.

You will need to make an HTML-page with a comic on the theme “Browser War”.

CSS, JavaScript, graphics and any other necessary resources should be contained within the page. The exceptions are web fonts and JavaScript libraries that you can connect to your work from external CDNs: Google Web Fonts , Yandex.API . As a result, you send one workable file.

Works are accepted until 9:00, October 24, 2011 Moscow time. The winner will be determined by a reputable jury , and will receive a prize to choose from: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Apple iPad 2.

Send your work to bw@web-standards.ru . In the letter, enter your name and surname, postal address for delivery of the prize and wishes for the prize itself: Apple iPad 2 or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Please note: everyone can take part in the competition, but only participants from Russia, Ukraine or Belarus can expect to receive a prize.

The main thing in this competition is technology, not plots. Your task is to squeeze all the technologies out to the maximum: CSS, JavaScript, SVG, Canvas and so on. Use whatever you want in any combination. For example, you can use only CSS. Home is your goal - to hit colleagues in the shop.

Full cross-browser compatibility is not a necessary condition, but broad browser support and intelligent degradation for older browsers will be taken into account when voting .
