Finnish startup hopes to change the web advertising market

An interesting idea was proposed by the Finnish startup Kiosked , which offers an original way of advertising on the Web for any goods or services without annoying banners. The company offers a special technology that allows the use of thematic images in articles and notes (on news resources, blogs, etc.) with advertisements that are related to these photos and are relevant to the image. Now Kiosked has opened its own archive of photos for everyone, now in this archive there are more than 5 million photos.

Each photo has a relevant ad provided by a third party. When you insert any such photo on your resource, you get a thematic picture, and the advertiser - potential buyers in the face of visitors to this resource. When you click on the image displays relevant ads that may be of interest to the visitor. If the visitor followed the link and bought something, then the money is received, respectively, by the advertiser, then the copyright holder, who owns the photo, the content provider (that is, the site owner) and Kiosked itself.

For example, a picture of a Ferrari car, inserted in an article about a trip to the office of Ferrari, may be tied to an airline advertisement with a ticket offer to the city where the headquarters of Ferrari is located. Or to this picture can be tied advertising the car itself, or advertising the hotel from the city, where the main office of Ferrari. In any case, advertising will be as relevant as possible to the image to which it is attached.

Experts believe that a lot of time must pass before this method of advertising will be accepted by the majority, however, there is potential for such a way to promote goods and services. The guys from Kiosked believe that this way of advertising is a “banner killer”, but, of course, banners will not disappear very soon, if it ever happens at all. Now Kiosked is testing its advertising display technology in Finland, working with a number of bloggers, photographers and copyright holders. For photographers, this way of earning is also beneficial - compared to simply placing a photo in any paid archive, the profit per image in collaboration with Kiosked increases 20-50 times (according to representatives of the startup).
