Manufacturing ATM skimmers using 3D printing
Many people know about the device ATM-skimmer , which can be found in the first ATM on the street. Usually a skimmer consists of a patch keyboard or camera, as well as a magnetic tape scanner. But now the criminals have mastered more technological methods of production. The South Texas court published documents ( 1 , 2 ) about the process of four criminals who stole more than $ 400 thousand from ATMs, and bought a 3D printer for making skimmers. Thus, the criminals were able to make perfect copies of the original receivers in the ATM, with very high accuracy.
