Amazon launches the best online payment system

The days of absolute dominance of PayPal are far in the past. Just over a year ago, Google launched the Google Checkout payment system, and now the former monopolist has another very dangerous competitor.

Amazon, the world's largest online store, launched as a limited beta its own payment system called the Flexible Payments Service (FPS), which has an extremely low commission for payments. Already, online store owners can apply and get free access to the API. For a regular user, this means: if you have an account on the Amazon website, then you can “link” your plastic card to it, after which there is no need for additional authorization when calculating in any online store that supports this system.

In terms of commissions, accepting payments via FPS is more profitable than using PayPal or Google Checkout. This is especially noticeable with micropayments, because the system allows online stores to accumulate micropayments in the amount of even less than one cent, and then issue a single total account to the user. The minimum commission is one cent for domestic payments or five cents for operations with a bank account or credit card.
