Google has acquired the German discount service DailyDeal

This week it became known that Google has acquired the German service DailyDeal, which provides discounts on products / services of its partners. According to representatives of the corporation, this service is necessary to expand the "discount" service of Google itself. Management plans to withdraw the program outside the United States. And since more and more people are looking for discounts on the Web, Google is going to come to grips with the development of its own Google Offers service.

According to experts from Google, the German service DailyDeal is great as a launching pad for expanding the geography of Google Offers. The purchased service began operation in December 2009, and since then has shown significant progress in development. DailyDeal was used not only by the Germans, but also by residents of Austria and Switzerland.

With the service you can find discounts in various restaurants, discounts on tourist tours, entertainment events and of course, shopping. By the way, not so long ago, the corporation acquired the advisory service Zagat, which is a guide to restaurants.

This month, the Google Offers program has been expanded to five additional cities in the United States, and it looks like the service turned out to be quite successful, unlike the similar service Facebook. For the first time, a discount service from Google was launched in June of this year, first only in Portland (Oregon, USA), and then in other cities of the States.
