Samsung will make Bada open

Against the background of rumors that the Korean electronics maker is allegedly planning to purchase WebOS, as well as a possible reorientation of Android to Motorola devices, Samsung decided to open the source code of its mobile operating system Bada. Of course, the goal of such a step is to popularize the platform among developers and, as a result, an increase in the number of applications for the platform, which should lead to a more successful competitive position in the market compared to such giants as iOS and Android.

In this sense, it is curious that the official statistics on sales of Bada-devices and their share in the company's profits do not exist, however, according to the August estimates of the analytic agency Gartner, the Bada percentage is about 2, which compared to 43% of the Android market cannot be considered to have a significant impact on the turbulent mobile market. However, this Bada result is still better than the result of Windows Phone 7, which is 1.6%, although both systems appeared simultaneously in 2010.
