Foursquare reaches 1 billion check-ins

According to the geolocation service Foursquare in their official blog , last week they reached a billion check-ins. Recall that in July 2010 the service totaled 100 million check-ins, in October 2010 - 200 million check-ins, and in June 2011 - 750 million check-ins.

At the same time, Foursquare has released an updated version of the mobile application for iOS and Android. The main innovation was the addition of a tab with a new function Lists (lists), which was launched in the web version a month ago. The new feature allows you to create lists of places that users recommend visiting, based on their past check-ins, and is designed to streamline a huge amount of advice and comments that users leave to different places.

According to the latest data in Foursquare now there are more than 10 million users who create about 3 million check-ins every day.
