What sensations does the highlighted pink-red ad have for you?
Do you want to see it?

Subjective feeling -
something is wrong with this car .
Maybe the seller something wrong, or users complained about this ad.
')
This is due to the fact that most of the time we think pattern-wise and this allows us not to waste time and mental efforts in ordinary life and solve problems quickly, intuitively, without thinking.
The guessing habrians have guessed that everything is in order with this announcement and even moreover, its owner paid extra money in order to “highlight” it with color.
1. Both desktop and web applications have taught users that this kind of highlighting is an error (incomplete or incorrect data)!
2. Quote from the portal "The ad highlighted in the list attracts more buyers." Attract, certainly attracts, but what will it give?
A crocodile in the middle of the sidewalk also attracts attention, but does this mean that all passers-by will want to stroke him?
3. I can’t declare with 100% confidence, but on those cars that were interesting to me,
there were fewer (sometimes significantly less, ceteris paribus) views than their “pale” counterparts. It turns out, users spend money to their own detriment.
4. Highlighting the color of the ad, the portal did not bother about what would happen if they were followed several times.

5. The subjective side of perception is clear - a certain part of users who have thinking patterns similar to mine will avoid this kind of announcement. And if they rationalize: the seller has spent additional money on advertising compared to other players, "at whose expense the banquet"?
Advice to developers - read smart books on the psychology of perception of interfaces, test your solutions, collect feedback from the user.
Finally, a small test for color blindness :)
