250 kids in kindergarten got learning iPads

A kindergarten in the American town of Auburn (Maine) was the first educational institution in the world where every child received the iPad 2 for personal use in a special protective case. The project cost the school department $ 240 thousand.

According to educators, with the help of tablets, each baby receives individual attention and care. In kindergarten groups, there are usually 15-20 people, so one teacher cannot play with each child as much as an iPad. The first days showed that children really like new “textbooks”.

Now about 40% of six-year-olds in Auburn Kindergarten cannot read well. With the help of iPads, educators hope to improve the rate.
