The RIPE NCC offered two options for paying for the resources used for 2012. This proposal has been submitted for public discussion due to the fact that the changes will affect all owners of autonomous systems (AS) and PI (PA) blocks.
The main essence of the proposals is reduced to two payment options.
1. Regardless of the size of the organization, anyone can receive LIR status. In this case, a direct contract is concluded with the RIPE NCC and the corresponding assigned category is paid directly to the RIPE account in the Netherlands. In this option, there are no separate payments for each dedicated resource.
2. Also, regardless of the size of the organization, you can get the status of LIR. The difference from the first option is to increase the cost of supporting the allocated resource to 100 euros.
To implement these options, the number of LIR categories has been expanded and XXS (extra-extra small) added with an annual payment of 250 euros and XXL (extra-extra large) with an annual payment of 15,000 euros (when using the first model) or 12,500 euros (when using the second model)
')
So, according to the RIPE NCC forecasts, when using the first option, the payment scheme will be as follows.
| XXS | XS | S | M | L | XL | XXL |

| Additional payments are not available for category XXS if there is only one PI block.
|
What is clear from the data provided is greater transparency and the lack of supporting annual payments for owners of PI blocks when using the first option.
And now the main point. All this information is mostly of interest to LIRs, but in this case the RIPE NCC goes to the meeting and invites everyone to participate and use the
contact form or send an email to
agm@ripe.net to report in English their thoughts and comments on about these options.
