Perhaps only the blind could not have noticed how recently Google’s attention has focused on its own Google Maps map service. In early June, Google Maps learned how to
create routes , then, exactly one month later, it became possible
to change the route at its own discretion. A week after that,
it became possible to use custom layers - “meplets”. All this gave Google Maps the functionality close to maps in GPS navigators.
Now Google has again expanded the capabilities of its mapping service - determining the approximate travel time (
example ). Yes, now after making a route, the
approximate time of the route will be displayed in the left sidebar: both with free roads and loaded at rush hour. Of course, if any accident happens, the travel time may increase - this, unfortunately, is not taken into account by Google maps.
If you are in a hurry somewhere and the route you have chosen takes a lot of time, try building another road with the help of the function already announced. Perhaps the new route can be overcome in less time.
It is a pity that the new feature is available only in the US, and even then only in large cities ...
