HTC is considering buying a mobile OS

The other day, the head of HTC announced that the company's board was considering the possibility of buying a mobile operating system that would serve as the basis for its own mobile devices. Currently, this company is one of the largest manufacturers (with a trend of further growth) of mobile gadgets, and as the operating system for its devices, HTC uses Android and Windows Phone 7.

So far, these are only preliminary plans, such as negotiations with any of the manufacturers of mobile OS are not being conducted. But the fact that HTC is considering the possibility of acquiring its own mobile OS, says a lot. As you know, HP has recently curtailed the development of webOS and devices based on this software platform. Samsung is still working with its own mobile OS Bada. This operating system has not gained much popularity, but the company continues to work with the specified mobile platform.

As for the MeeGo OS, Intel is still working with it. Representatives of the corporation said not so long ago that there is a possibility of working with a new partner in this sector. But so far there is no evidence that the NTS wants to work with MeeGo.

This Taiwanese company has several possible ways of getting what you want: developing your own OS, buying a finished product (like HP's webOS), or expanding and adding Sense functionality, so far this is just an add-on for Android, but who knows, suddenly the company will be able to turn this product in an independent software platform?

In any case, further actions of HTC are of interest to many.
