A group of teachers in the UK is
asking for the closure of sites, like YouTube, in order to protect students and administrative staff from attacks by Internet hooligans on social networks.
An unusual statement appeared due to the fact that on YouTube and other similar sites there are videos in which students and teachers are humiliated and intimidated. The fact that these videos constantly cause unhealthy physical and emotional situations disturbs those who call for the closure of these sites. At the conference of the Professional Association of Teachers, this initiative was proposed and supported, calling for the complete cessation of the work of these social networks.
Yes, a huge problem, really, is cyberbullying - psychological terror in the vast web. The Internet is an excellent tool for such things. Firstly, files on the Web spread at the speed of light (and all that is needed for criminals is to “lower” the victim in the eyes of a larger number of people), and, secondly, on the Internet you can easily remain anonymous and not incur any penalties.

But my opinion is that cyberbullying is a terrible thing, but not worth the closure of good resources. After all, a negligible percentage of users is engaged in nonsense. Here the problem is not in technology, but in the heads - British teachers are not struggling with that.
