New Wi-Fi standard

CSR is developing a new Wi-Fi standard and today introduced a new standard for wireless data transfer, Wi-Fi 802.11ai.
The main feature of the new generation is the technology of a significant reduction in the connection time to wireless networks. The expected connection time is about 1 second (that is, almost 10 times faster). The new version of the technology will also be optimized in terms of energy consumption.
According to IMS Research, the market for mobile devices with an integrated Wi-Fi module is projected to grow to more than 1.3 billion units by 2016.
The standard can work together with 802.11b, g and n.
The development will be demonstrated at the IEEE 802 Wireless Interim Meeting in September 2011.
