We have updated our Evernote Android app, adding a number of new features, including tighter integration with
Skitch , searching for notes without Internet access, a new way to view your images, and much more.
Draw and comment with Skitch
This update was the first version of Evernote, which is a clear consequence of our recent acquisition of Skitch. When you create a new note or edit an existing one, you will notice the Skitch heart logo in the command bar. If you have Skitch installed (and if not, you should put it), you will go to this application, and there you can sketch a picture or text, and then send the made notes to Evernote by clicking on the icon with the elephant in the upper right corner.

Annotations to the existing imageIf you need to make notes on a screenshot or a picture that is contained in an already existing note, go to editing it and click on the attachment with the desired image. In the pop-up window, select
Mark with Skitch . This feature is available for almost all notes with pictures, with the exception of copied fragments of web pages. After making the necessary notes in Skitch, click on the Evernote icon, and the picture will be sent back to your note. Everything is very simple.
Search for notes without an Internet connection
Previously, you could open notes that were in the device’s cache without an Internet connection, but the full-text search feature was unavailable. Now
premium subscribers can download entire notebooks to their smartphones or tablets and search for notes in them completely autonomously. Users of free accounts can use offline search among notes that they have ever viewed or created on their Android devices.
We have prepared another additional feature for premium users by making PDF files available for offline search. Please note that this may require downloading and storing more content on your device or SD card.
View images as slides
We made viewing images in Evernote very convenient. Open the note, then click on the photo, screenshot or any image with sketches from Skitch, and a new special view mode in the form of slides will appear. The image in this mode is scaled to full screen and framed with a black background. Swipe left or right to scroll through all the images in a note. If your note contains only images and nothing else, when you open such a note, you will immediately be taken to the new view mode.

Connecting joint notebooks
When someone gives you access to a shared notebook, you receive an email with a link. If you click on it while viewing this letter on your Android device, the joint notepad will open right inside Evernote for Android. You no longer need to return to your computer, everything becomes available in a couple of touches.
Other improvements
We also made a number of improvements to the existing functionality:
- Move notes between notebooks : open a note, then tap Menu> Details . Select Move to Notepad to move the entry.
- Work with tags : when adding a tag you will see a new, more convenient interface.

- Saving files to an SD card : tap any note that contains files or images, and then select Save attachments from the menu.
Many new products are on the way
Meanwhile, we are already working on new features for Evernote and Skitch. By the way, we also do not forget our users from iOS and are preparing a version of Skitch for this platform. Follow the news.
