How to get closer to users. The story of one project

A bit of background



While still students, we decided to make a service that helps you choose a studio for website development. At that time, we had already been on both sides of the barricades - having received our own experience after working both on the developer side and on the client side.

This is how WRate appeared - a rating of studios and advertising agencies.

The development of the project was to bring more experience and applied knowledge than money. Although the money, no one was going to give up.


Time passed ...



Since the first publication on WRate on Habré, just over two years have passed. During this time, our project has gradually evolved - we have grown from the rating of web studios to a full-fledged catalog, tenders have been added that allow ordering the development on a competitive basis based on the existing budget; The freelance section appeared in the catalog, the number of registered studios has grown to 690.

Everything was unhurried. The project worked and practically did not take our time (except for the need to moderate new entries in the catalog).

But at the end of this summer, we felt a new surge of strength.

and it happened.



We realized that on the one hand we have a great resource, and on the other hand the opportunity to improve the lives of our beloved users. We decided to create a section “ Discounts ”, in which we could, within the framework of a partnership, provide users with some preferences for thematic products and services.

At the same time, the sellers of these products and services are also satisfied, because they get new customers.

Of course, the size of the discount is not at all “grupponovsky,” but from 5 to 10 percent is quite a pleasant discount that can express our love.

And so in August, we began to negotiate with conferences, organizers of master classes and owners of services. The selection criteria are the simplest - the service should suit the audience and we would use it or use it ourselves.

We contacted almost all the conference organizers of the upcoming conferences and received a consent from the majority to cooperate. Therefore, now we can proudly be called partners Whale Rider (Moscow, September 20-21) SMM.ua (Kiev, September 30) , HighLoad ++ (Moscow, October 3-4) . We managed to get a discount for our users on the Sean Marshall's Kiev master class " Search Marketing " (September 15) . We were also able to agree on the accrual of additional money to the account of the Worksection project management system (which, by the way, we use ourselves) .

We want to be as useful as possible for our users. And it seems to us that we have chosen the right path. Therefore, we will expand the number of partner offers, finding interesting events and useful services.
