Overview of Designer Salaries (Web, UI, Flash, 3D)
Having told in the previous post about the salaries of “mobile” developers, in a month we are ready to share new information. Let me remind you that our company is engaged in staff recruitment in many large cities of Russia and Europe. Every six months, we conduct research on the salaries of employees of IT companies in order to be aware of the slightest market changes.

To analyze the labor market for the necessary positions, data on the number of vacancies and resumes for August 29, 2011 were collected.

Data for the next table in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Russian Federation as a whole, we collected with HeadHunter . For Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod, the E1 and nn.Rabota.ru were “swelling away”, respectively.
If the situation in the “All designers” line (from clothing designers to game designers) seems somewhat sad (there are 6 applicants for 1 job at once), then the picture below is more pleasing to the eyes of the applicant. The only exception was the caste of “3D designers” , where, in our opinion, novice professionals with no work experience had a significant impact on performance.
It soothes that there are not so many really good designers, and if you are such, you can easily pass the so-called competition for a place.
With the situation on the labor market have decided - the supply exceeds demand. And what about salaries?
Typically, employers invest in the concept of "web designer" artistic skills (Photoshop, Corel Draw, Illustrator, etc.) and layout. Of course, sometimes it is enough just to make layouts or to impose, but more often, both are required.
According to the table, it can be noted that in Nizhny Novgorod, the salaries in vacancies are promised much more than they pay. St. Petersburg employers in this regard are much more honest.
Of all the proposed posts, the interface designer is the youngest. Previously, employers trusted the design of the interfaces of their products to a web designer or programmer. But lately, more and more managers want to have their master UI in the team.
Salaries show that interface designers are in demand in large companies. In the smaller, interface design is trusted by web designers or developers.

The high salary can be explained by the fact that, thanks to ActionScript, Flash / Flex designers should be able to not only draw, but also program.
