IFA 2011, day 2: Samsung Galaxy Note, NX200, MV800 and Lenovo U300s
On the second day, we managed to get to the Samsung stand, but as soon as we managed to get closer to the Galaxy Note that we are interested in, the company's employees immediately ran up and for some reason banned the shooting: they say, then! We did not conflict, so we’ll probably roll out a more detailed video tomorrow.
Smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note is equipped with a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels and is made using Super AMOLED technology. Manages the monster operating system Android 2.3 with a proprietary interface TouchWiz. High performance is provided by a Samsung dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz cores, a gigabyte of RAM and a Mali-400MP graphics accelerator. The device is stuffed with an 8-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front-side webcam, support for 3G networks and a 16/32 GB drive. The capacity of its replaceable battery is 2500 mAh, the thickness of the device is less than a centimeter (9.65 mm), and the Galaxy Note weighs 178 grams. In addition to it, the company also introduced a special stylus with which you can leave notes on the Galaxy Note screen. Prices, dates of commencement of sales and markets have not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.

Mirrorless Samsung NX200 is equipped with a 20.3-megapixel CMOS-matrix APS-C format, that is, the same size as in the available mirrors. This leads to unkind thoughts that Samsung is still continuing the megapixel race. While other manufacturers have already realized its futility and are focusing on new features and camera stuffing.
The camera can take pictures at a speed of 7 frames per second and video clips with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in progressive scan at 30 frames per second. The footage can be viewed on a 3-inch AMOLED display with VGA resolution. Supported lenses with Samsung's proprietary "chip" i-Function and, most importantly, improved autofocus speed. According to the developers, it now does not exceed 0.1 seconds.
You can evaluate the results of such a small matrix with such a huge resolution by using four quick-look photos. This is not to say that they were very pleased, but they did not disappoint: ISO800 ISO1600 ISO3200 ISO6400 .
But the ergonomics in some places didn’t like it much - the sharp edges unpleasantly stick into the palms, and the course of the wheel for switching shooting modes is very tight.
The second significant novelty is the seemingly unremarkable Samsung MV800 compact. It would seem that the usual soap box of the middle class with a 5x zoom lens and the usual functionality. Is that megapixels more than other class members - 16.1.
But not everything is so simple. First, the 3-inch touchscreen camera display. Secondly, it leans back in one plane - you can move it up and back down, which will greatly facilitate the taking of self-photos or frames from a lower angle.
And finally, the third novelty - Lenovo U300s. Unlike the Samsung booth employees, the guys from Lenovo turned out to be much more friendly. We were allowed to see everything in detail and simply asked not to publish the review before 18:00 Thursday Moscow time.
Lenovo U300s is the successor of the best traditions of the IdeaPad U260, but the detailed characteristics are still kept secret, so we can only tell what we saw with our own eyes. Unibody-body is made of aluminum, it is quite thin (thickness of 14.9 mm) and light (feels no more than 1.2-1.3 kg).
The matte surface of the case is pleasant to the touch and not at all brandy. Glossy here is only a screen, its diagonal is 13.3 inches. The U300s will run on Core i3 / i5 / i7 processors.
The connectors are quite small: USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI, audio input and connector for connecting the power adapter.
The gadget was very interesting and, undoubtedly, deserves a detailed review. Only one thing confused - a very sharp edging of the case.
