AMD / ATI graphics cards will support DisplayPort

Less than a week since the presentation of the world's first LCD monitor with the DisplayPort interface , another manufacturer, AMD, announced the introduction of the HDMI alternative into its upcoming products.
Displayport
As stated by representatives of the corporation, for some time now owning the Radeon trademark, video cards of the same name with DisplayPort support will appear on the market “already in early 2008”. That is, in fact, right before the Samsung 30-inch LCD display, expected in the second quarter, is on sale.

However, AMD hardly looked at the Korean roadmap and were guided, rather, by their own plans. According to them, in the first half of 2008, AMD should release cards based on new generation processors (R700), one of the main features of which is native support for DisplayPort 1.1. I would like to hope that AMD is not greedy and will bring a couple of copies of the latest maps to CES 2008.
