Nokia will launch iTunes counterpart

The first rumors about the launch of a music download-service under the auspices of Nokia appeared in June, when the company's CEO, Mr. Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, made a very transparent hint about this. And just the other day this hint materialized into a whole publication in the Fortune magazine, according to which it is planned to launch a new service in August. Of course, there are so many ambitions among the Finns that one might think that the Apple iTunes store does not exist at all.
Nokia intends to compete with Apple in the field of music download-services
According to the article, the worldwide service will allow its users to upload and transfer music files not only to Nokia phones, but also to some other devices that are not related to the Finnish giant. Naturally, all the content will be accompanied by a kind of DRM, and by the time of launch, users will have access to more than a million songs (iTunes Store, by the way, in the first days of work offered five million files).

It is assumed that the official launch of the project will take place on August 29 at the London Ministry of Sound club as part of a music event, which will also feature new Nokia phone models.
