California-based Liquid Robotics , which develops robotic devices for collecting and processing information on the chemical and physical properties of seawater, got a valuable employee in its ranks - former Sun Microsystems engineer James Gosling, who after Oracle acquired Sun, worked at Google , and better known as the creator of the Java language.

Liquid Robotics, led by the way, by another former employee of Sun, Bill Vass, is known for creating high-tech projects to gather scientific information using robots. One of the company's recent patented projects is the Wave Glider (unmanned maritime vehicle), a device that uses wave energy for movement in the ocean, and solar panels for electric sensors, and which is able to return to the location specified by the researcher.

In June of this year, Liquide Robotics received significant funding for its development in the amount of $ 22 million and, as the head of the company admits, James Gosling needs the company to develop software that will work on their robots:

James is one of the best software engineers in the industry, and he will help us improve our knowledge of the oceans to a degree unknown before.
