As many already know, today the release of Ruby on Rails 3.1 has been released (probably someone else will write about this event on Habré).
I, in turn, timed this release of the new version of the site
Rusrails.ru , where I publish my translations of the
official Rails guide .
I worked on the new version of Rusrails somewhere from the beginning of the summer in my spare time.

What was done
I got rid of Joomla, and wrote a simple site on Rails 3.0, with a convenient admin panel for me, page caching and searching with the help of a sphinx.
Updated existing manual translations. There were mostly minor editorial edits, but there were also large sections that had been modified. In general, the translation is now relevant for Rails 3.1.
Translations of each manual are tied to individual revisions of
github.com/lifo/dorails , and now it has become very easy to track down the defamations, which has changed in a separate manual. Previously, it was all done "by eye", and something could be missed.
All old material on Rails 3.0 and 2.3 was put into the
archive .
What was not done
The site design is not liked by many, however, it does not suit me either. My friend, a volunteer designer, promised to finalize it, but something never got around.
I made a simple "chat" on the site, for newbies in Rails (for experienced users, as you know, there is a google group ror2ru, but newbies there do not like :). Unfortunately, due to her own curvature of the hands, she never saw the light - the virtual machine on which everything was developed was accidentally destroyed :) So, the “talker” was postponed indefinitely.
What's next
I plan to expand the list of translated manuals, in particular, to add manuals on the asset pipeline and transition to Rails 3.1
I plan to add the ability to comment on individual pages and responses to comments, plus a separate “chat” forum, and make these sections interrelated.
I plan to socialize - to place the site code and transfers to the github for the possibility of collective work on them.
I would be happy to offer and help!
