Only in April of this year, the
news appeared that the social network Facebook has launched a competitor Groupon, the Facebook Deals service. Many believed that this service has great potential, since the same Groupon is growing by leaps and bounds. But as it turned out, the service from Facebook does not meet the expectations of the leadership of the social network. And c Deals do the same as they usually do with unprofitable service - they stop its work. Yes, Facebook is about to close Deals in a few weeks.
In one of the official
appeals , Facebook representatives stated that “after testing Deals for four months, it was decided to shut down the service”. Generally speaking, even a bit strange, because Facebook has more than 750 million users at the moment, and this service is not even necessary to promote, as was the case with the same Groupon. True, Deals was not available for all users, but for those who live in San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, San Diego and several other cities. Apparently, the residents of these regions are not very useful Deals.

Now there are more and more discount services, the same Google has joined the cohort of competitors Groupon. But even if Facebook failed in this regard, it is somehow doubtful that someone else would successfully compete with Groupon. And many consider Groupon itself to be a “bubble”, already imagining how this bubble will burst in the near future. But so far this “discount” service is alive and well, continuing to attract investments from large and not very investors.
