Not so long ago, Google acquired Slide, a company engaged in developing applications and games for social networks, for $ 182 million. Then the project was bought, according to Google, in order to empower Google in the social sphere.
The creator of Slide, Max Levchin (Max Levchin), when the corporation bought the Slide project, began to manage this project as a member of the corporation team. But now he is leaving Google, which is another proof of the completion of the project. Levchin, by the way, is one of the founders of PayPal.

Slide was founded back in 2005, and since then this company has released several very popular social networking applications, including FunWall, Fortune Cookie and SuperPoke. A little later, Zynga intercepted the initiative and palm, but Slide was still considered a successful company, which Google bought (August 2008).
Since then, Slide has worked as an autonomous division of a corporation, releasing applications such as Disco or Prizes (Prizes.org). However, none of them became very popular, and Google management decided to close the project, using all of its technology for the benefit of Google+. Most Slide employees will remain at Google to work on other projects, and all Slide products will lose further support and development, with the exception of Prizes.org.
