Steve Jobs left Apple CEO

Apple announced that Steve Jobs had left the company's CEO position.

The new CEO was the current COO (Chief Operating Officer) Tim Cook, who has served as CEO recently. Back in January, Jobs went on leave for health reasons.

I have always said that if the day comes when I will not be able to fulfill my duties and meet expectations as the CEO of Apple, then I will be the first one from whom you will find out. Unfortunately, this day has come.

I leave the position of CEO of Apple. I would like to be, if the board of directors considers it appropriate, the chairman of the board of directors, the director and Apple employee.

As for my successor, I strongly recommend that, adhering to our succession plan, appoint Tim Cook to the position of Apple CEO.

I am sure that the brightest and most innovative days of Apple are still ahead. And in the new role I will do my best for success.

I found some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for many years of working with you.
