Short URLs on Google Maps

The official Google LatLong blog reports that after a year of testing, shortened URLs became a standard feature of Google Maps . Now the link with coordinates is automatically encoded into a more compact form via g.co.



Only Google Maps can generate links that start with g.co/maps , so there is no opportunity for phishing.
