I have long been interested in the question: will it be possible to blog at Habrahabr, which will be less dependent on people who are not interested in the topic of the blog? I will explain. It is not the first time I notice such a situation, that someone creates a blog on a topic of interest to him, writes something there, a post appears on
www.habrahabr.ru/new and is filled up with minuses, and not because of complete nonsense, but simply because there are topics that are not interesting to everyone.
What is the result? A blog immediately loses its rating, its creator or authors are reduced to karma, and all because the post, in the opinion of the majority, is unworthy of appearing on the first page. Just because penetration to the main page is not necessarily the main goal of habratopika! It is quite natural if people for specific interests join blogs. Their goal is to share thematic information with each other, discuss, argue, etc. and not necessarily impose their interests on others. Why should they suffer because the topic that is interesting to them is not interesting to others? It’s not quite normal to read
your posts in
your blog in the “friable” section.
Now blogs on Habrahabr are in fact just one general blog, and the name of each blog is nothing more than a common label or topic of habratopics. Any habrachelovek can instantly join any blog and create habratopic there on any topic (with enough karma, of course) and leave it just the same instantly. You can vote for habratopiki regardless of whether you are in a blog or not. You can create a blog and immediately lose the opportunity to write there, if you suddenly drop for it karma people who do not want to see entries from this blog on the first page.

I have a few thoughts on how to diversify blogs. There is certainly no one-to-one solution, especially given the fact that the whole Habrahabr is built around voting and karma, so I would just like to discuss options that the creators of blogs may lack and could increase and diversify the content of Habrahabr:
- Blogging is by invitation only or approved by the administrator. A personal blog that only one person maintains, while others may join to read, or the possibility of establishing the right to create habratopik in a blog.
- Pre-moderation and removal of habratopic
- Voting for habratopiki only blog members and the possible failure in this regard from falling on the first page. I am least sure of that, but on the other hand it seems to me that the social network will only be stronger if there are many strong groups within it (blogs, parties, circles, whatever you call it).
