Subjective review of mobile Internet in Taiwan: 3G + WiFi + WiMax
I, like many other Internet users, regularly complain about mobile operators, WiMax providers, WiFi networks ... Without the Internet, it’s impossible to work, and any interruptions cause anger. In addition, Nomobile.ru works a lot with video, and for us not only stability of communication, but also speed is important. And almost every time we go outside of Moscow (which happens quite often), there are any special effects with a connection. During our last trip to Seliger, we already used the satellite Internet, so that we were not influenced by any external factors.
In Southeast Asia, Taiwan’s Taipei capital, we worked for nearly a week at the Computex international exhibition. Since Taipei is considered a champion in many indicators related to the mobile Internet, it was very interesting to compare it with Moscow in these parameters. ')
During the week, we actively tested all available types of mobile Internet in Taipei: we worked with a local operator's SIM, connected to the hot-spot WiFi network, the largest in the world, and used local WiMax. Speed tests with speedtest.net were regularly “banished”, and also shared subjective impressions.
This is a video about 3G in Taipei, and under the cut - two more, with WiFi and WiMax
As soon as the Moscow SIM-card was registered in the local network, it received a message with an offer to test the WiFly network - the world's largest network in terms of the number of hot spots, which unites the entire country. I will say right away - this was the worst internet in Taipei.
Finally, we checked the most difficult mobile Internet artillery in use today: WiMax technology from one of six (!) Taiwanese WiMax operators. Test results and general conclusions on the mobile Internet in Taipei - in the third video.
