Codecademy: 200 thousand users, 2.1 million lessons in the first 72 hours of work

Incredible success was demonstrated by a Codecademy startup that teaches beginners how to program in JavaScript using free interactive lessons. Lessons are carried out in the application with a simple and intuitive interface. Another feature of the project - registration on the site is not required until you finish a couple of first lessons.

In the first three days, the site attracted 200+ thousand active users (those who entered the site and launched the application are considered), the number of completed lessons was ≈2.1 million, writes TechCrunch .

A startup created in two weeks is still providing a service for free, but in the future it should come up with some kind of business model to pay for hosting costs.
