webo.in dead? Long live the WEBO Scout!

It has been more than 3.5 years since the official launch of the information resource webo.in. Not just a lot of water flowed away, but a lot. The industry has made great strides forward, we published two books on our own and translated materials, checked over a million web resources, founded and successfully grow a company - the only one in Russia who is professionally engaged in the acceleration of websites - WEBO Software . But the topic is not about that, it is about a new generation of site speed reports.

The webo.in resource was outdated a year and a half ago, when Google Page Speed ​​appeared, it was translated into Russian and it became clear that analytical testing (on top of real data) would be much more accurate than synthetic (based on real data calculations, their modeling). Therefore, we decided to close webo.in.

But to leave developers without a high-quality tool to measure the speed of the site would be stupid. Especially since the present, russified instrument is not normal. Therefore, we have left the best from the webo.in verification algorithm and created a new product - WEBO Scout - which is now fully integrated into the WEBO Pulsar service. All users already registered on webo.in can use the service with their username / password. Restrictions for new users are now much softer: you can request up to 100 reports on the speed of the site with the new registration.

Types of reports

Now available only 2 main types:

Simple report. A simple check of the opening time of the site (with the calculation of the possible acceleration), quick base figures for those who get measured KPI. Suitable for regular measurements of the speed of the site. The cost of the report is about 5 rubles (depending on the account replenishment in Pulsar).

Baseline Report. Slightly more complicated, more technical data (server response time from 4 points is added without taking into account network delays, file upload diagram and ranked tips for increasing site speed). Suitable for research problems of the site and get their quick assessment. The cost of the report is about 20 rubles.

In the very near future, we will supplement these two reports with another, no less important, extended one, in which, apart from the ranked councils, information will be included on the implementation of the councils and the lists of files that are affected by this or that council. We plan to release by September.

Later, reports will be expanded with a large amount of professional information. Here we only need time to lay out all the information we know :)

After creation, reports are available via permanent HTML links, are conveniently printed and, by default, sent to e-mail. For each user is a complete history of his reports.

External API

It is already there. With it, you can create reports and receive any data from them automatically (you just need to have an adequate balance in the WEBO Pulsar service). If you provide hosting services for your clients, then such reports are an additional opportunity to earn. We work both under the affiliate scheme and under the White Label.

Status

Although WEBO Scout was launched more than a month ago in internal beta testing, it still needs to be improved. Therefore, the current status of the product is external beta, and we will welcome any comments on the functionality.
