A modest wish for Windows 8 - system spell checker

BUILD conference is coming. On it, Microsoft will present all sorts of fantastic innovations in Windows 8. I want to ask about a simple boring thing - transfer the fucking spell checker from the Office to, in fact, Windows!

I write in 3 languages - English, Russian and Lithuanian - almost daily. For all three there is a spell checker in office applications.

When I write a blog post in Windows Live Writer, I have a spelling check for English only. Therefore, in my English texts there are many stylistic errors, but almost no spelling and typing errors. But when I write in Russian, my computer is not my assistant. Therefore, it is necessary either to write correctly (it is impossible, since I lastly had to write correctly in Russian 18 years ago), or stupidly terrorize my readers with a multitude of errors and occlusion in already clumsy texts. What we do.

What is even worse is that in Internet Explorer 9 there is no spellchecking as a class. Yes, there are third-party plug-ins, but they have a noticeable effect on stability and speed. I honestly tried to use IE9 for a couple of months, but eventually gave up. There are other reasons why I use Chrome, and not IE9, but the lack of spell checking is perhaps the main one.

The absurdity of the situation lies in the fact that all these products are made by Microsoft and spell checkers for all three languages are installed on my machine. It's hard for me to think of an excuse for this absurdity with anything other than organizational problems / disagreements within Microsoft, which I, the user, absolutely shouldn't worry about.

Of course, I’m really looking forward to all the great new features for Windows 8, but please, Microsoft, put an end to this idiocy with the spell checker. In 2012, there can be no excuse for the lack of a system spell checker with an API for third-party developers.
