Exactly one year ago, on August 21, 2010, the
Ufa Google Technology User Group , the
Ufa Google Technology User Group (GTUG or Jitag) was officially registered with a rather ambitious but quite realistic goal: to provide developers in Ufa and the Republic of Bashkortostan with a platform for interaction - communication, sharing experiences, learning about the latest trends from the world of Google technologies, and implementing joint projects.

A year ago, active guys from various educational institutions and organizations in Ufa (and the youngest member of our group goes to school) united into a regional group of like-minded people under the motto
“Think globally - act locally!” To jointly understand the latest trends from the world Google techologies, share experiences and just make acquaintances (we firmly believe that developers from one city should know each other by sight!).
')
A year later, it was time to take stock and we are pleased to announce that today there are about 40 of us, including many experienced specialists who know Google technology well. At the same time, the number of people who want to learn how to use them effectively is much more!
Ufa GTUG: our very first full-time kick-off meetingDuring this time we had
6 in-person meetings , namely:
- Kick-Off Meeting: we met and learned about GTUGs around the world, the CIS, and now in Ufa,
- two events in Tech Talks format: we listened to reports on the development of applications for Android OS and Google Chrome extensions, after which we learned the answers to all our questions,
- Demo Night: we got acquainted with applications under Android OS and Google Chrome extensions created by members of our group,
- Dev Cafe's two informal meetings: we discussed the latest news from the world of information technology, in particular, one of the meetings was devoted to the Google I / O 2011 Developer Conference held on the eve of the conference.
Very soon, at the end of August, we are planning to hold a Chrome hackathon with the support of the Russian offices of Google in Moscow and St. Petersburg, with the subsequent participation of the guys in the All-Russian competition and the presentation of the best projects at Google Developer Day 2011 in Moscow. The exact schedule of the event will be known later. Follow the news on our
blog , as well as on Twitter
@UfaGTUG or on the hashtag #ufagtug.
It is important to note that we are not going to stop there - we have big big plans for the future! That is why we very much hope for your support and with great pleasure are ready to listen to all your ideas and suggestions.
Sincerely, Aigul Zagidullina and Rafael Gilyazitdinov,
organizers of Ufa group of users of technologies of Google, Ufa GTUG
