Report on the seventh meeting of the Apple Developers Community
On August 16, the seventh meeting of Apple developers took place on the SumIT site in St. Petersburg.
Themes ADCSpb # 7: promotion of applications in the App Store .
')
At the meeting were:
Ekaterina Zholobova ( Nevosoft ) “Promotion on the App Store. 10 steps to success ";
Grigory Uskov ( ALSEDI ) "Promotion of applications from indie-developer";
Denis Margolin ( DataArt ) "How my company learned mobile technology."
We should start with the fact that at the seventh meeting, for the first time, we decided to do without technical reports. The marketers who came were very pleased, and the developers were quietly indignant and demanded blood and spectacle at the next meeting to return to the old format.
Replacing the seventh meeting was not the first venue, it was decided to hold SumIT at the cozy venue, for which many thanks to them. The number of participants with each meeting is growing, and this time we had to do zero, -1 and -2 row, in order to plant everyone. Having filled the hall to the eyeballs, the ten who came were still left without seats. Well, soon you will have to rent a stadium :)
The first speaker was Ekaterina Zholobova from the casual games company Nevosoft . She told about 10 main steps in promoting games in the App Store .
Catherine's report was built on the experience of Nevosoft , whose games with an enviable regularity flash in the cherished column Top Paid.
Gregory Uskov from the ALSEDI company followed . Gregory is a regular participant of ADCSpb from the first meeting and many were surprised to see him not in the hall, but on the stage. He spoke about the so-called promotion of applications for the "poor."
Grigory earns 95% of the profits on foreign sales, so despite the similarity in the title of the reports, his methods are significantly different from those of Catherine. He himself calls himself an indie-developer, while earning (in secret) on one application more than some companies, while working almost alone.
The meeting was closed by our old friend Denis Margolin from DataArt . He spoke about how DataArt began to develop in mobile technologies a couple of years ago. Regarding Microsoft's new OS, he assured that Windows Phone 7 will become a serious competitor for iOs and Android.
After the report of Denis, the most persistent (~ 10 people) moved to the nearest pub for further communication.
I would like to thank once again everyone who came to the meeting. All wishes and suggestions are happy to hear in the comments or in PM. Thanks to our partners: HackDay , ITmozg and Ingria BI for their help in organizing.
ADCSpb # 8
If you remember, we recently organized free Apple developer courses . On September 2, the eighth meeting will be held, during which, in addition to the two speakers, the students themselves will make presentations of their graduation projects.
Also, a new set for the autumn courses is planned.
