According to Apple, the life of the iPhone battery is about 400 charges. After that, the battery capacity is reduced by 20% (and possibly more).
PC Magazine 's merry fellows have already
mocked the “iPhonomans”, inviting them to find out the exact
date of the “death” of their beloved device. But jokes, jokes, and discontent with such a short battery life can cause not a joke trial.
US resident José Trujillo initiated a lawsuit against Apple, saying that in fact the iPhone battery can withstand no more than 300 recharge cycles, which means replacing it almost once a year. Given the conditions for replacing the rechargeable batteries of mobile phones iPhone ($ 79 for the battery, $ 7 for delivering the device to the service center and back, plus the loss when replacing all the data on the phone), the lawsuit does not look stupid. In addition, Trujillo is also dissatisfied with the fact that the iPhone's battery cannot be replaced manually, as a result of which, during the stay of the mobile phone in the service center, its owners will either have to remain without a phone or look for an alternative.
Whether Trujillo will receive the compensation of $ 75,000 from Apple is not known, as, by the way, whether the initiator will manage to win the case in principle. But the fact that Apple is really nudged with the process of changing the battery is clear now. $ 86, loss of data (which means confusion with a backup) and weekly (at best) waiting is somehow too much.
