Blog TUAW writes about the completion of a kind of breakthrough, which was accomplished by a group of program code wizards who gathered around the #iphone IRC channel. They have finally released the binary version and source code of the first unofficial program for the Apple iPhone megadevice.
For obvious reasons, the program only demonstrates the ability to install and operate third-party software on the iPhone and therefore does nothing except the traditional rendering of the “Hello, world!” Greeting through the gadget GUI. Perhaps this is not the most striking example of reverse engineering in the computer field, but it definitely deserves attention.
