HP has just
officially announced the termination in the future of any activity related to webOS devices, specifically, webOS smartphones and TouchPad tablets. This is unexpected and sad news, especially for all those who pin their hopes on this Linux-based operating system.
Perhaps webOS will continue to evolve without HP help, at least for a while. Now HP decides what to do with this system. Perhaps it will be
licensed to other manufacturers .
Note that HP bought Palm a little over a year ago for $ 1.2 billion, along with a base of about 12,000 patents owned by Palm. At
current prices, it may cost about $ 9 billion. It's sad when patents cost more than the products themselves and innovative developments, such as webOS.
