NASA has given permission for SpaceX to launch the Falcon 9 rocket (the launch will take place on November 30, 2011) and to dock the Dragon cargo module with the International Space Station a week later.
This will be the third launch of the Falcon 9 rocket. The docking of the cargo module from a private commercial company with the ISS is an important stage in the development of cargo transportation in space. In the future, non-state companies can take on the bulk of such freight, working under a contract with NASA, and SpaceX has already signed such a contract with NASA for at least 12 flights. These same firms can take up tourism and hotel business in Earth orbit.
