Readers will remember that back in December of last year, after the
publication of the user
brunql, we and
timsat decided to seriously take up the open-hardware project, which they called
Lightpack . In February, we even
presented you revision 4.3 after which many bright heads joined the project.
And today I am ready to show you what we have achieved with version 5.5, which has become the first commercial version of Lightpack, which can be bought for money:
So, what is important (besides this video) we did:
- Revised the scheme greatly increasing its versatility
- Increased the number of LEDs and capture zones to 10 pieces
- Wrote a simple API to communicate with the device through plug-ins and documented it.
- Added backlight mode to software
- They wrote a simple plugin for XBMC to manage software from the media center
- Implemented
divine intervention gamma correction - Broke software for OS X (fix)
All layout, schematic diagrams, lists of components and assembly instructions are now
available on the project hosting. Commercial copies from the pilot batch, unfortunately, did not reach the post on Habré, although I am sure that it will be more interesting for you to assemble everything yourself. And the last Lightpack from the pilot game
can be won at all.

The Habra administration found that a separate blog about open-hardware is not needed and I have no objective reasons to disagree with their decision. Therefore, the topic is published in open-source, and not in DIY or "I am promoting".
