Singer Björk has released an "album application" for the iPhone / iPad

While the RIAA is filing lawsuits against hundreds of thousands of citizens for “piracy,” musicians are experimenting with new music sales models.

Icelandic singer Bjork has released a new album in the form of a set of programs for the iPhone / iPad. There are 10 songs in the album, and each one has its own interactive program, which “combines nature, music and technology”. The parent project is called Biophilia , like the album, and is distributed free of charge with the first song, Cosmogony. The picture shows the space 3D-interface, which shows the names of all the songs. They can be bought as separate programs inside Cosmogony.

Only two additional programs have already been released (Crystalline and Virus) for $ 1.99.

Each interactive application corresponds to its scientific phenomenon. For example, Crystalline is something like a game in which you need to understand the structural and spatial connections between crystals and music.

There is also a video where the movement of the pieces is synchronized with the rhythm.

The second program Virus in the “instrumental” mode displays biological cells and viruses on the screen, and touching each element generates the sound of one of the instruments that the singer used for her musical composition. Thus, you can compose your songs from her sounds.
