Visit the free Drupal workshop at IT Jam 2011 Meet & Mix (20/08, Odessa)

The lesson “Creating a website on Drupal 7” will be held as part of IT Jam 2011 Meet & Mix , which will be held on August 20 in Odessa

The purpose of the application is to gain basic knowledge of creating websites on Drupal 7.

Workshop is designed for an audience of any level. For anyone who creates websites and who are interested in the direction of web development.

During the session, participants will create a simple website with a catalog of products, using both built-in Drupal functionality and external (user) modules.

The site will consist of:

• main pages of the site (start page, about the company, contacts),
• product catalog,
• contact form (on the contact page),
• Site search

After the class, which lasts 3 hours, participants will be able and understand:

• Basics of the Drupal system
• Content management (content) of the site, its display
• Categorizing site content
• Connecting and using external (custom) modules and themes (templates) of Drupal

As a result of the lesson, the participant will have his (self-made) version of the site on his computer.

To participate in a practical exercise, you must have a computer with Skype installed, a set of PHP developer programs (PHP, Apache, MySQL), download the latest Drupal 7 release, configure the local host to work on your computer.

A set of PHP developer programs is included in the Denwer or XAMPP packages, which are available for free.
