Since 2008, Google
has been developing the open source technology of the
Native Client , which allows you to run x86 code in a browser, with security restrictions like JavaScript. No need to explain that, thanks to the Native Client, a new generation of browser-based applications will appear with direct access to CPU resources. In some way, this is exactly the intermediate link that was missing between native applications and web applications.
For two and a half years, Google has worked to eliminate the security problems of the Native Client, and finally it
happened : Yesterday, the Native Client was included in the
last beta of Google Chrome 14 .
Native Client applications use
Pepper's programming interfaces (PPAPI), which are an upgrade of the Netscape Plugin API (NPAPI), a technology used in most browsers other than Internet Explorer (ActiveX).

In the new release of Chrome also appeared support for
Web Audio API with various audio effects, which are especially useful for creating games.
