Ten of the most sought after specializations according to Indeed.com

Although indeed.com (one of the world's largest job search services) is not limited to IT only, its ten trends in the labor market now include only skills related to the Internet and computers.

The ten most rapidly developing technologies can be divided into four groups - cloud infrastructure, sociality, mobile and HTML5 applications.

In the tenth and ninth places - virtualization and cloud computing . The growth in demand for specialists in these areas continues, the benefits of cloud infrastructure are attracting more and more companies, but the pace of this growth is inferior to newcomers, such as mobile applications.

Social networks and social media are also quite an old trend, but in absolute numbers they have no equal. At the same time, this is the most “non-IT” group of all four - PR, advertising, copywriting and promotion in social networks make up a significant proportion of vacancies belonging to this group. And, of course, every second (if not every first!) Project on the Internet now needs to be integrated with such “dinosaurs” as Twitter (fourth place) and Facebook (sixth place). Social media as a whole is in seventh place.

The phenomenal success of the iPhone opened the era of modern mobile applications, but the very brainchild of Steve Jobs is now squeezed by competitors - first of all Android, which ranks third, while the iPhone has the eighth place. They were compared to the absolute number of vacancies . In general, the development of mobile applications is in second place.

HTML5 comes first. The explosive growth that began in 2010 continues today. Dynamic HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript-based web applications are the hottest topic. With the advent of platforms such as Appcelerator Titanium , it becomes possible for these technologies to go beyond the web and penetrate mobile (what is already happening) and desktop applications.

Naturally, amid growing interest in JavaScript, jQuery continues to grow steadily (fifth place).

Although Indeed's data is most relevant for the US, these trends will undoubtedly be felt in the CIS markets - many software companies here work for outsourcing, and local start-ups often focus on the global market. Of course, against the background of well-established technologies such as Java, C # or Flash, smart newcomers in modest numbers look modest , but who knows what will be mainstream in a few years ...

PS At the request of readers - the whole dozen looks as follows:
  1. HTML5
  2. Mobile app
  3. Android
  4. Twitter
  5. jQuery
  6. Facebook
  7. Social media
  8. iphone
  9. Cloud computing
  10. Virtualization
