Google continues to change the design of its products in the style of Google+, and this time introduced a new interface for
Google Docs . To look at it, you need to click on the link "New Interface" in the upper right corner. Through the same menu, you can return to the classic interface.
If, like me, it seems to you that initially the new interface takes up too much space, then in the
settings you can choose a denser design option
(Use denser view) .
The new interface has hot keys that allow you to navigate the list of documents without a mouse. For example, to select a document, use
⇓ (down arrow) to move down through the list and
⇑ (up arrow) to move back up. Once you find the item you want, press
a to open the
Actions menu. Then, using the
⇑ and
⇓ keys to move through the action menu, press to select an action.
')
To create a new document, press
Shift + T , to create a table -
Shift + S , and to create a collection -
Shift + C.
In theory, by pressing ? A hint menu should appear with a description of all the hotkeys, but for some reason this function does not work for me. As
ilyafd suggests, the hint menu with a description of all the hotkeys is invoked with
Shift +? .
