3D printing is a cheap way to get the part you need.

In general, only lazy people are not talking about 3D printers right now. Habré published news about many models of these devices, including models of the future, which, for example, allow you to "print" any body. With the proliferation of these devices, they are increasingly entering our life, life, and in some cases it manifests itself most clearly. For example, one of the users of the Instructables site in an original way solved the problem of breakage of an expensive part of a pram of his child. One of the details of the stroller broke (as you can see in the photo in the sequel, nothing particularly complicated, a simple piece of hardware, the Chinese do such a thing of a cent), and the manufacturer asked for a replacement ... $ 250 (!).

What makes our resourceful user? That's right, he searches the web for services that deal with 3D printing, and finds the one closest to him. Then a three-dimensional model of the part is created in the CAD application, the model is saved and sent by e-mail to these guys with a 3D printer. The name of the company, which took advantage of the resourceful owner of the pram - Shapeways, somewhere I have already heard about it.

So, after a couple of days, Shapeways sent a freshly printed part that was perfect for a replacement. As a result, the guy spent a couple of hours of time modeling, a couple of days waiting for the new part and $ 25. This is subject to delivery. So the “wheelchair” monopolist was not left with business, and the comrade saved 225 dollars. Not bad, right? Yes, by the way, the freshly printed part was created from aluminum, it is not plastic.

In general, a good idea for business. We buy a functional 3D printer, and begin to take orders for the "printout" of all sorts of different parts, from baby carriages to cars. As we see, in the USA such an idea works, and not bad. I wonder when 3D printing will become common for residents of the CIS countries? I have not seen a single 3D printer live, unfortunately.
