FAS against limiting the length of SMS messages in Cyrillic
FAS sent a request to cellular operators for violations of the rights of Russians who send SMS in Cyrillic. Namely, the limitation of the length of an SMS message to 70 characters instead of 160 in Latin.
Comrades, this is just phenomenal ... I certainly understand that FAS doesn't have a clue about the PDU format, which is used in all mobile phones and does not allow UTF-16 to encode messages of more than 70 characters due to restrictions on the length of the packets, but the news was gratifying.
