Introduction

On Habré there are posts, and there are comments to posts. Sometimes there is nothing valuable among the comments. Sometimes certain comments are very good (which is usually expressed in community support and a lot of advantages). Sometimes the posts cause a heated discussion and the comments go to the hundreds. Reading all this you can spend a lot of time, choosing among the five hundred records really valuable. This state of affairs does not quite suit me.

To save time, at first I started to skip comments without a good number of “manually” pluses. It really saves time, but it’s not very convenient to run right-left with your eyes, looking for good grades. So the idea was born to automate this business, and I decided to write a small extension for my favorite Opera browser, which would help me to read the comments (and at the same time learn how to make extensions for Opera). In addition to actually hiding comments, the extension has a couple more buns.

Expansion

I called the extension Habrahide, that's what it can do.

Hide comments

There are 3 different methods. Depending on the method chosen, comments will be hidden whose rating is:
Different methods hide a different number of comments, you can choose the best for each post. The default method is set in the settings, and the extension menu allows you to change the method only for the current tab

There are several ways to view hidden comments. You can press the "v" button next to the comment and display it
You can click the “vv” button and display the comment and all child hidden comments. After the comment / child comments are displayed, they can be hidden back by the “« ”and“ ʌʌ ”buttons, respectively. If you want to see all the comments (or hide them back), the extension menu allows you to do this (see above).

Correct "function" to "functionality"

I can not get used to the fact that almost always the functionality is called a functional, the extension corrects this annoying flaw of the authors:

Unfortunately, the replacement does not always work well, but in such cases we can assume that the author was sealed

Conclusion

I use this extension for several weeks and it does what it needs. Reading comments has become more convenient and efficient. If there is an interesting discussion, you can expand all the comments or a separate thread. If the discussion is rotten, you can hide a maximum of comments and read only interesting things. I hope the extension is useful to someone else.

Known features - does not work in company blogs, because there is its own layout.

Comments, feedback, suggestions? Thanks for attention.
