The British government plans to legalize copying CDs and DVDs for personal use.
Yesterday, on the Reuters agency website, it was reported that on August 3rd, the United Kingdom government would make a statement about its intention to legalize copying data from acquired media for personal purposes. This decision was among the recommendations issued to the government by Professor Ian Hargraves after he analyzed copyright legislation at the request of the Prime Minister. Similar rules of law currently exist in all European countries, except Ireland, Britain and Malta. The government, however, did not report whether it is planned to follow another recommendation of Professor Hargraves — to create a central digital copyright exchange, simplifying the processes of buying / selling licenses for using content for commercial purposes.
